Afterwards, Flordelaria Babaran, SSLG Adviser, delivered the welcome remarks, formally opening the event and expressing appreciation to everyone who contributed to the project’s success.
In addition, Leonida P. Jacinto, Head Teacher V of INHS, shared an inspirational message emphasizing the importance of even the smallest resources in students’ educational journeys.
“Every paper, ballpen, notebook is a thread that connects you to a better future,” Jacinto expressed.
Moreover, Elianie Camarat, SSLG Treasurer, presented the statement of purpose of the project, explaining that Project THREAD was created to help financially struggling students by providing free or low-cost school supplies and uniforms while fostering a supportive and caring school community.
“This project was created to help students who are struggling financially by giving them free or low-cost school supplies and uniforms... this project also wants to bring the school community closer. When we help each other, we build a caring and supportive school where everyone feels like they belong,” Camarat stated.
To inspire the students, Delano Domingo Jr., SSLG President, also gave a motivating and powerful statement for his part, securing a great relationship between the organization and the students.
“Project THREAD exists because we believe in the power of your potential... let these resources become wings to your passion, and let every challenge become a stepping stone, not a wall,” Domingo expressed.
The program concluded with a strong sense of hope and unity, reflecting the spirit of bayanihan and the school’s commitment to uplifting its students.
Meanwhile, the school supplies were collected through donations from generous individuals and were distributed to 35 students.
The collection of donations started on May 27 and formally ended on June 19, a day before the culminating program, allowing for a longer period for many donors to showcase their generous hearts.
